The next meeting of the Greater Cincinnati Orchid Society will be on Tuesday, June 1, 2004.  Note that this is the first Tuesday of the month.  The meeting will be held at the Civic Garden Center on Reading Road across from Bethesda Hospital. The meeting is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.  There will be time to socialize from 7:00 to 7:30.

Program

This month’s program will be by Russ Vernon.  His topic is “How not to grow phalaenopsis. There will be a beginners’ circle at 7:00 on “Summering Out Your Plants”.  Bring questions..  See Steve for location.   Members are encouraged to bring plants for door prizes and for Silent Auction this month. Refreshments will be provided by Pat June and Larry Sanford. 7:00

GCOS & MVOS Picnic June 27

Picnic will be held at Walnut Hills Park in Dayton. ( Map at end.) Lunch at noon.  Auction at 1 P.M.  Last names beginning with A-K bring deserts and L-Z bring salads.  Meat and drinks will be provided.

The next Steering Committee meeting will be held the home of Jeanne Sanders  at 7:00 p.m. on August 17, 2004.  Officers 2004 should attend: Roni Adkins, Jim France, Steve Helbling, Pat June, Jeanne Sanders, Larry Sanford, Toni Doty and Dana White.


 

Plant Judging

 

AOS Judging of plants is done at the shows listed below under Nearby Shows as well as at the regularly scheduled judging sessions listed immediately below.  These sessions begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Civic Garden Center.  You are welcome to bring a plant to be judged or just to observe the judging.  Be a little early; plant registration is from Noon to 1:00 p.m.
