2009 CALENDAR

The Greater Cincinnati Orchid Society meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month every month except July, August, and December at the Civic Garden Center on Reading Road. Orchid Shows are sponsored in the Spring and Fall at Krohn Conservatory. See our calendar of events at the left.

GCOS IS 60!!!!!!! The Greater Cincinnati Orchid Society was started by Col. Riley who ran Wardor Nursery in 1948. There were 7 members Directions to Civic Garden Center.

Tuesday's program June 9
June’s program is by Glen Decker of Piping Rock Orchids is speaking on “Recent Paphiopedilum Hybrids and Paphiopedilum Culture”.
Upcoming Soon
The 18th Annual Ohio Valley Seminar is Saturday, July 11, 2009 at the Civic Garden Center. Mario Ferrusi of Marsh Hollow Orchids is speaking on Masdevallias and Erich Michel of Erich Michel Nursery is speaking on Orchids of Madagascar. Our picnic with the Miami Valley Orchid Society is June 28 at Honeysuckle Lodge, Sharon Woods. (see map below) 11:00 A.M. Lunch at 12:00 with the auction starting approximately at 1. Everyone brings a covered dish. Meat and dish supplied by society. You need a Hamilton County Park sticker. You can purchase them there for a day $1 or season $5. We will have some available at our meeting.
